BIOGRAPHY
Emilie Halpern's evocative work examines seemingly simple treasures and objects with a keen eye for inquiry rooted in human experience, embracing a sense of admiration towards love, longing, and wonderment of the world. Halpern has had solo projects with The Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum (2007), Project Row Houses in Houston (2009) and Light & Wire Gallery (2010). Her work has appeared in group exhibitions at such venues as Claremont Museum of Art (2008), Kate MacGarry, London (2006) and Tucson Museum of Art (2009). In 2010, she will have a billboard project with LA><ART, a two-person exhibition with artist Eric Zimmerman at Art Palace in Houston, and she will participate in a group exhibition at Blum & Poe, Los Angeles. Halpern was born in Paris and she received her MFA from Art Center College of Design.
