BIOGRAPHY
In Jackel's words, her "paintings and drawings present both specific objects and abstracted spaces, evocative of shifting atoms and planets." For her, they describe "different levels of focus on the world," with a common underlying principle: "Matter is constantly changing; forms will break down and find new configurations." Jackel's recent exhibitions include Formalities of Seeing: Selected Work from the Collection of Stephen Mishol at the Dugan Gallery, University of Massachusetts (2009); Cube It and Getty Underground, both at the Getty Museum (2008). She received an MFA in Painting and Drawing from UCLA and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Studio Art from Brandeis University. She currently resides in Los Angeles.
