BIOGRAPHY
Erwin Redl writes, “My work reflects upon the condition of art making after the ‘digital experience.’” Redl is well known for his large-scale LED installations and environments, such as his work in the 2002 Whitney Biennial that covering the museum's façade and his sound and light installation for the Austrian Pavilion at the 2008 World Expo in Zaragoza, Spain. Redl’s work is represented in major collections, including those of the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego and the Milwaukee Art Museum. He recently completed a major public art commission for the new W-Hotel in Hollywood. Redl lives in New York, where he received his MFA in Computer Art from the School of Visual Art.
