BIOGRAPHY
Bari Ziperstein is a site-specific sculptor, photographer and ceramicist whose work investigates the way in which urban landscapes are shaped and defined by consumerism. In her own words, her work challenges "viewers to discern the familiar from the strange and to question the attachments [...] that consumers tend to place on spaces and objects that adorn them." Ziperstein's work will be seen in the forthcoming shows Flags, Medallions & Forts at JMOCA in Silverlake and Summer Camp at Cypress College. Her past exhibitions include Perk, See Line Gallery at the Pacific Design Center; (This Isn't Happening) Popular Hallucinations For Your Home at Bank in Los Angeles and Bitch is the New Black, curated by Emma Gray, Honor Fraser in Culver City. Ziperstein received her MFA in Studio Art from the CalArts. She currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
