BIOGRAPHY
Irina Alimanestianu describes her work as a process of intuitive play that engages the drama of the subconscious, animism, and the world of archetypes. Her work has been seen in a solo exhibition at Kravets/Wehby Gallery in New York (1999) and in numerous group exhibitions across the U.S., including The Armory Show in New York (2004) LA Current: Looking At the Light, 3 Generations of LA Artists at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles (1998); and New American Talent: The Fifteenth Exhibition, a traveling exhibition curated by David Pagel (2000-1). She received her MFA from Claremont Graduate University and her BFA from NYU. She currently resides in Venice, California.
