BIOGRAPHY
“Fay Ku was born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1974 and immigrated to the United States shortly before her third birthday. She is one of the brilliant exponents of the younger generation of Chinese American artists whose accomplished draftsmanship and unusual vision is directed at examining the tension between delicate, feminine subject matter and its undercurrent of violence and sexual exploitation. Her charming renderings of children, young girls, and animals carry a dangerous and disturbing charge.” – Goedhuis Contemporary
Ku’s work has been featured in solo exhibitions at The Contemporary Museum, Honolulu (2010); Eight Modern, Santa Fe (2009); L MD Galerie in Paris (2009); New Britain Museum of American Art in Connecticut (2009); Sam Lee Gallery, Los Angeles (2008); and Kips Gallery (2008), A.I.R. Gallery (2005), Metaphor Contemporary Art (2005) and Goedhuis Contemporary (2009) in New York. She received an MFA in Studio Art and an MS in Art History from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.
