BIOGRAPHY

Sandeep Mukherjee is an abstract artist whose works evoke geological, biological and celestial elements while investigating space and perception. His works are in numerous public collections, including those of MOCA, Los Angeles; MOMA, New York; LACMA; UCLA Hammer Museum; Jumex Collection, Mexico City; Peter Norton Collection, Santa Monica; and the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas. Mukherjee has upcoming solo shows at Brennan and Griffin Gallery in New York and Project 88 in Mumbai, India. He has had solo exhibitions at Pomona Art Museum (2004); Cottage Home (2008) and Margo Leavin Gallery (2000, 2002) in Los Angeles; Nature Morte Gallery in New Dehli (2008); and Second Street Gallery in Charlottesville, Virginia (2009), among others. His work has recently been seen in group exhibitions at ARCOmadrid; ACME Gallery, Los Angeles and the Torrance Art Museum. Mukherjee received an MFA from UCLA, a BFA from Otis, and a Master of Sciences from UC Berkeley. Born in Pune, India, he lives and works in Los Angeles.
