Item Description
I enjoy working with clay--the earth--and the freedom it allows. My work has evolved in two directions: functional pottery and a series called The Earth Speaks. I have recently begun experimenting with "sculptural teapots."
As a functional potter, I am drawn to carving, altering, and glaze decoration. I work quickly--preferring simple tools and techniques.
The Earth Speaks was originally inspired by the rugged rocks, colors, history of the southwestern United States. Today, the work has taken several directions, held together by its allegiance to the earth: its beauty, challenges, messages.
