Item Description

A hand engraved Teak finger labyrinth. App. 32cm or 12.5" in diameter. It is created using a slow prayerful approach allowing the essence of the wood to speak as it is unfolding. Once the engraving is finished there are up to 8 levels of sanding and oiling to bring out the beauty of the wood.

The teak labyrinth is the darkest wood shown in the picture and it is in the final stages of oiling and sanding in this picture. Behind it are featured fir, pine and babinga labyrinths to show the different colours and textures of the different woods.

Item Special Note

The wood is  a recycled a piece of teak from a local source, not a newly cut tree and is over 30 years old. It was a cutting board which I have planed down.
Almost all of our labyrinths have been recycled from old furniture, old shelving units, etc. which we strip and bring back to the original wood underneath. Many have a story....we have even recycled church pews (my personal favourite) to make memory boxes!
