Item Description
You know the faces - and the voices - of Joan Baez and Arlo Guthrie. This classic photo was taken at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA in 1980. Photographer Richard McCaffrey of Providence, RI lived in the San Francisco Bay area, 1973 - '85. This work was donated by Providence Picture Frame.
Richard was Chief Photographer for BAM: The California Music Magazine, and also worked with musicians, record companies and rock promoter Bill Graham.
Richard's work has been featured in Rolling Stone, Cream, Guitar Player, Blender, People, Look, the NY Daily News, The San Francisco Examiner, MTV, VH1, CBS Sunday Morning, and in numerous Albums, CDs and books on the music industry. He is the co-author of the book X-capees, a photo-history of the early San Francisco punk rock scene, and Not Fade Away, a tribute to Jerry Garcia. His collection documenting the music industry contains over 100,000 Photographs.
