GUANACASTE

This province for the active soul draws visitors with its stunning shoreline, incredible bird watching, amazing horseback riding, excellent surfing, superb snorkeling and wonderful mountain lake windsurfing.  Forming the eastern borders of Guanacaste are a chain of volcanoes that stretch out to join the Cordillera de Guanacaste and Cordillera de Tilaran mountain ranges.  Offering some truly terrific hiking facilities, tourists can trek their way to the summit of a number of volcanoes, including Rincon de la Vieja Volcano Area, to enjoy some really breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside.  Tamarindo is perhaps the most accessible beach town on the country’s entire northern Pacific Coast. Enjoy surfing, swimming, snorkeling, sailing, kayaking, jet skiing, boogie boarding, horseback riding and scuba diving, or visit the nearby wildlife refuge of Diria, as well as the Marino Las Baulas National Park, where leatherback turtles come every summer to nest and breed.

PUNTARENAS

Lying to the west and stretching along two thirds of the country’s Pacific Coast, Puntarenas is the largest province in Costa Rica and extends all the way to Costa Rica’s southern border with Panama. American Airlines

This package includes round-trip coach class service for (2) from any American Airlines destination in the 48 contiguous United States or Canada to anywhere American Airlines flies in the Central America subject to availability. Upgrade pricing is available. Coach class airfare can be upgraded to first class airfare by calling 877-544-8555. A minimum of 21 days advance booking is required as is a Saturday night stay. Flights will not accrue AAdvantage miles. Miles cannot be utilized to upgrade these coach class certificates to a higher level of service. The certificates will have a one-year expiration date from the date issued and all reservations are subject to availability.  The following blackout dates apply:

2010:  Dec 17-31.

2011:  Jan 1-4; Dec 16-31.
