This book provides an expanded understanding of the Civil Rights Movement, most especially Freedom Summer, and SNCC.  Each chapter is written by a different author who tells her story of her involvement in a movement that challenged and changed not only segregatoin, but the American psyche.  Each story is unique and inspiring.  The authors/activits include Constance Curry, Joan C. Browning, Casey Hayden, Dorothy Dawson Burlage, Sue Thrasher, Elaine DeLott Baker, Penny Patch, Emmie Schrader Adams, and Theresa del Pozzo.
The theme for 2011 is Our History is Our Strength and the stories that these women tell are definitely source of that strength. 
This book is authrographed by Joan C. Browning who was the catalyst for the book.
