Item Description
Cotton of the Carolinas (CotC) T-Shirt from TS Designs.
CotC is a collaboration of farmers and manufacturers across the Carolinas dedicated to growing, making, and selling its T-shirts in the Carolinas.
Though originally the inspiration of TS Designs' Eric Henry and longtime friend and mentor Sam Moore, it could not have left the ground without the support of individuals and organizations all throughout its supply chain.
Our program focuses on three main objectives:
- Support of Local Economies
- Low Transportation Footprint
- Complete Product Transparency
Support of Local Economies
The farmers and manufacturers involved in Harvest '08, the first crop of shirts for the program, represent over 700 North Carolinas employees. Not only are we dedicated to growing and making the shirts here in the Carolinas, we're dedicated to selling them here too. Our first two crops, '08 and '09, will be available for purchase only in North and South Carolina.
Low Transportation Footprint
Harvest '08 will travel approximately 700 miles from cotton field to printed/dyed shirt. A globally-sourced t-shirt can travel more than 16,000 miles before being sold.
Complete Product Transparency
Maps, images, and tracking paperwork for each harvest are available right here on this website, allowing any wearer to track his or her shirt's life from dirt to shirt using the printed reference label on each shirt.
