Item Description
There's a certain realism to the paintings of Dora Atwater Millikin you won't find in the work of many artists: She strives to capture the genuine grittiness of utility poles, electrical wires, rusty tugs, cars, trailers - the stuff of everyday life. But her work also conveys the beauty of the world surrounding us; the impressionistic quality of Dora's painting is balanced by an unusually honest realism.
Dora, operator of Wyndfield Studio in Westport, MA, is a vice president of the South Coast Artists, with members in Westport and Dartmouth, MA and Tiverton and Little Compton, RI.
She is represented by Walker-Cunningham Fine Art on Boston's Newbury Street and her work is displayed in many galleries and collections.
Item Special Note
From the Beach - an original oil-on-panel in an integral frame - measures 10”H x 5”W overall.
