Item Description

With the flip of a switch, you can turn on your entire world. While it's easy on your end, actually getting electricity to your home is a more complicated task. See for yourself with an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Missouri's largest coal-fired power plant, AmerenUE. Grab three others and let AmerenUE take you on an electrifying experience. See how many trains of coal it takes to make a day's worth of electricity. Discover how coal ash is turned into concrete as part of UE's recycling efforts in Labadie. Get a feel for what it's like to be a UE lineman. Even take a ride in a 60-foot-high UE bucket truck! And if that view isn't enough, head to the top of the Labadie Plant to look out over the Missouri River and historic town of Labadie. After your tour, enjoy lunch at the Hawthorne Inn, a hidden gem in Missouri's countryside. On the return ride, learn how electricity gets from the power plant to your home.

Item Special Note

Mutually agreed upon date. AmerenUE will provide transportation from the St. Louis Metro area, if desired. Four people maximum. Kids under 5 discouraged. AmerenUE will provide your meal at the Hawthorne Inn and all safety equipment.
