Item Description
Although showing some of the characteristics of the work in Curtis's Botanical Magazine of a slightly earlier period, the origin of this mid-19th-Century hand-colored lithograph of root vegetables is uncertain. It's a lovely example of the genre, however. The mint-condition print measures 10" x 7 7/8" itself and is matted in museum board. Overall dimensions are 16" x 20" in its gold-painted, wood frame. It's a gift from the collection of Stephan and Julia Brigidi of the Bristol Workshops in Photography, Bristol, RI
Item Special Note
