John Flemming on CERF+:
For over 30 years I have been an artist, working in the medium of leather, primarily concentrating on the sculptural possibilities of this material. In the fall of 2005 New Orleans was hit with one of the worst man-made disasters of our country’s history. As I was sitting in Lafayette, after evacuating, wondering what was going to happen, one of the first contacts that I had was an email from Les at CERF+, offering help to me. I was humbled. Aid was sent, and helped to get my family back into our home. One year later, after rebuilding the house, my home was hit by a tornado, and again horribly damaged. CERF+ was again there, unsolicited, to offer help. I can’t thank this organization enough. I am proud to be a member of this art community and to have CERF+ in our life.
