Item Description
Enjoy a one of a kind beautiful hand pulled print. As part of the Tanabata series, this piece was first shown in Japan in the summer of 2010. The image initiates from the 1937 film "Sisters of the Gion". The series took its beginnings in the Tanabata Myth of Stars Together and Apart. The work is an intaglio solar etch developed with chine colle. White Frame. Size 10 X13.
Item Special Note
Florence Alfano McEwin is a professor of art and award winning artist of both print and paint mediums. In 2009 she recieved an award for her prints at KSapce Contemporary in Corpus Christi TX, Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation, GA. and the Wyoming State Arts Fellowship. In additon, her prints of this selected series were invited for display at Purdue University,IN , the Pen and Brush, NYC and the Whitney Museum of the Buffalo Bill Histoical Center in Cody WY.
