Item Description
Born in Malone, N.Y., a small farming village located in the St. Lawrence River Valley, Cat spent a vast amount of her childhood exploring the fields and streams around her home. An inquisitive and sensitive child, she was acutely aware of the changes in the atmosphere. Light, color, and texture have always had a profound effect on her. Cat’s favorite time of day was, and still is late afternoon. As the sunlight streamed through her bedroom window the poplars in her front yard changed with the light and the seasons. Even today, she can close her eyes and see them in all their splendor; the craggy, thick, gray bark, and the heart shaped leaves that changed from green to a pale yellow in the Fall.
A landscape artist specializing in oil on canvas, Cat currently lives in Saranac Lake and paints both on location and in her studio.
