Item Description

Inherent in each one of us is a support system that regulates physical, emotional and spiritual healing wherever there is trauma, imbalance or dis-regulation. Similar to the eye of a hurricane, there are fulcrums of stillness specifically in the fluids of the body around which a current of deep, healing rhythms are expressed. These currents found in the fluid system serve to organize regulation, healing and synchronization. When the body is in a constant state of stress, this healing life force becomes compressed and cannot efficiently perform its role. Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy are practices that access stillness, breath and slow tempo in order to decompress and reorganize this magnificent system. In the client, this is often sensed as a deep experience of presence and wholeness. As a result, instead of feeling caught-up in the stress of everyday life, you will be able to manage it while maintaining a sense of being grounded and connected with your breath.

What To Expect In A Session

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, manual therapy that addresses healing from the inside out with the perspective that we are each a whole, living, breathing organism. Each session offers a unique experience and something new to discover. A typical session usually lasts about an hour. The client lies fully clothed on a massage table with the practitioner sitting nearby. After taking a few minutes to slow down and settle her own nervous system, the practitioner places her hands lightly on the client. In a session, the practitioner may practice 4-6 different hand positions to sense the client’s nervous system and rhythmic fluid movements in order to bring forth the inherent healing mechanisms of the client. The client is encouraged to check-in with the practitioner to make sure they are comfortable at all times.

About Juliana

I find joy in sharing my knowledge and passion for healing and movement through my practice as a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist, yoga instructor and dancer. After receiving my BFA in dance from The Boston Conservatory, my transformation as a dancer naturally stimulated my curiosity for sharing movement as therapy with others. In 2005, I received my first Yoga Certification through the Synergy Yoga Center in California, followed by my Pilates Certification with Steele Pilates in 2006. I have been teaching both yoga and Pilates in the New York area ever since. In 2008, I began my 2 year, 700 hour journey to become a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist under the guidance of Michael Shea. I am currently in training with Sean Tebor to further my understanding of yoga asana and applied anatomy exploring the importance of the fascial system and Chinese Meridians. My growth as an instructor and therapist is reflected in my artistry through dance as I continue to create and perform in my own works as well as collaborating with other inspiring artists.
