Take to the track at Texas World Speedway with 1 Day in Motorsports Performance Driving School with a rented car from the fleet of Mazda Miata racers! The Ultimate Driving Experience!

The historic Texas World Speedway is one of only seven Super Speedways in the USA and is the only Super Speedway in the Southwest. The other US Super Speedways are Indianapolis, Daytona, Pocono, Talladega, California, and Michigan (TWS’s “sister track”).

TWS’s two mile high bank oval became known as "The World's Fastest Speedway" when Mario Andretti set a world closed course speed record of 214.158 mph on October 6, 1973 while qualifying for an Indy car race. That record stood in the Guinness Book of World Records for twelve years.

Performance Driving School

Texas World Speedway's Motorsports Performance Driving School is a fun and exciting way for licensed drivers to experience the thrill of driving at high speeds, legally, in a controlled environment. Education, courtesy for others, and safety are stressed from the beginning of the day, starting with drivers meetings and classroom instruction for those attending for the first time.

After classroom curriculum, participants can ride in and drive their car or a rented spec Miata with a personal instructor (Green and Blue Groups). Your instructor will gradually guide you to a higher level of driving skill at a pace that is appropriate and comfortable to you. There is no pressure or competition involved. This is a performance driving school focused on improving your driving skills. Your comfort and experience level dictates how fast you go and what run group you are in.

All new drivers start in the Green Group. As skill, speed, and confidence increase, instructors will suggest soloing or moving to a more advanced group.

Rent-a-Racer

 Texas World Speedway is proud to announce its newly updated fleet of Mazda Miata racers available for rental! We have been updating our entire fleet to not only add safety, but big performance gains as well.

The new updates include:

• New Sparco Evo II Seats or Sparco Sprint V Seats
• MazdaSpeed Spec Miata Suspension (Track Tuned Suspension)
• Spec Miata 8-point Roll Cages


Expiration is September 2011. The driver will need to sign a rental agreement for the Rent-a-Racer and agree to cover any damages. Drivers must have a valid driver's license. If a driver is under 18, a parent must give permission and be present at the event.

Please bid carefully because all net auction proceeds will fund MDA research and summer camp. MDA accepts your bid as a promise to pay.

Important: All winning bidders will receive an email notification of a winning bid. You will be contacted within 10 business days to determine how you will receive your item. Receipt of your item(s) will be handled by:

• Selected items will be available for pick up at the specified MDA Office no later than October 30, 2010,

• Some items will be available at donor locations as noted in the item description, and;

• If shipment of your item is required, shipping charges and insurance will apply and will be billed to your account.
