Item Description

The work I do is cloisonne enamel on copper. The average portrait is about 10" square and then is framed to a size of bout 14" square. The work contains fine silver wires that are bent by hand and outline the forms and separate the colors. The enamel is vitreous glass frit that is inlaid by hand and fired at about 1500 degrees F. Layers are created and fired one at a time and then the surface is hand ground to reveal the layers beneath, creating the effect of depth and varying the colors within an area.

The Gift Certificate is good for one to two people or animals or a combination of both. Must be used by December 31, 2010.

Mary Klein on CERF+:

I was on the CERF Board and on the Loans and Services Committee in the late 1990s. I have lived in Florida for nearly 30 years and the threat of natural disaster is something I have lived with every day...it's either hurricanes, wildfires, or something else...oil spills, of late... that threaten the livelihoods of artists in Florida and I felt that my work with CERF was among the most important things I ever did in my life. This past summer, I was invited to return to serve on the Loans and Services Committee, which I quickly embraced.
