Item Description
The late Rhode Island School of Design professor Irving B. Haynes enjoyed five decades of producing fine art.
Always examining our visual perceptions, Haynes concluded that since the mid-19th Century, “our perceptions of light, color, surface, texture, shape, line, etc. and their complex interactions have forced a basic re-evaluation of ‘pictorial structure’ and ‘pictorial space.’” And he made it a goal to examine those relationships and perceptions in his work, which is prized today by collectors and students of art.
Item Special Note
Donated by his widow, Jane Ingle, this untitled, abstract watercolor by Irving B. Haynes measures 18"H x 21"W, matted and framed.
