Item Description
In artist Walter Scott’s own words, “the last light of day illuminates the sky with its warm rays turning edges into golds and reds against the sky’s glow before turning to stark contrast as the cooler colors herald the approaching evening. This scene is a popular spot on Newport’s beautiful coast regardless of the weather or time of year”.
Essentially a self-taught artist, Walter Scott was a commercial fisherman for years. His love for the beauty of the coast - and his native talent - drove him towards a career as an artist. Walter is a member of the Wickford Art Association, Newport Artist Guild and the American Society of Marine Artists.
