Item Description
No need to move at a turtle's pace, or wait until pigs fly, to have a quality, handmade serving tray to delight your guests! Not with this oval, turtle-design platter from Flying Pig Pottery of Woods Hole, MA.
The method potter Tessa Morgan uses to create the design isn't for the faint-of-heart: She cuts it through the upper layer of "slip" when it's in a state called "leather hard" (before firing.) And there's no fixing mistakes: Any errors mean it's time to start the project all over again!
Tessa Morgan is a member of theSociety of Cape Cod Craftsmen, a professional organization whose members have hosted live craft fairs on the Cape for 58 years.
Item Special Note
This stoneware platter measures 20 1/2" long and 7 1/2" wide.
