Item Description

5" X 5" Multi-media on canvas

My wanderings began when I moved from the midwest to London, then to Berlin, New York and finally Boston.  My paintings incorporate images from distant travels.  Layered photo images are silk-screened, collaged or painted on canvas.  I like to show the disjuncture of historic places in their current condition; the nature of a place articulated by bits of notes or permits in unfamiliar languages.

Judith Uehling has a BA from Smith College and she has studied at the Art Institute, Chicago, IL.  Her work is in many corporate, museum and university collection in the US and Europe. Judith is an award winning artist who exhibits extensively throughout the US and Europe including Yugoslavia, Scotland, Germany, England, Malta and Italy.
