F. Gerald New began his career with Black Star and Gorham, a 5th Avenue New York jewelry store. He opened his own store in East Orange. The store opened in 1941 on the day after Pearl Harbor.
In 1970, F. Gerald New moved to Chatham where they remain at 180 Main street. The store is run by Mr. New’s granddaughter, Catherine Jaeckle Norbury and her husband, Paul.
The store offers beautifully crafted home accessories and jewelry.
