Item Description
20 1/2" X 17" X 1" Mosaic
This piece was made from discarded ceramic tile, broken down with a hammer. The ceramic was then broken down using tile nippers to achieve small pieces for maximizing the detail of the flowers. Inspiration for this mosaic came from the many blooms I have in my perennial garden throughout the summer. My objective for this piece was to bring out the natural colors and tones of the flowers against a contrasting background.
Linda Jarousky is a self taught mosaic artist who enjoys spending time within the New England states exploring the many sites that is has to offer. With the ever changing beauty of the four seasons in New England, it provides bountiful inspiration for her art. Her work focuses mainly on nature and portraiture using various materials suck as ceramic, marble, stained glass, rock, etc. What intrigues her most about this art from is that the end result is a recognizable image made up of broken material.
