Autographed copy
Author: Erin Elder
Despite her parent's desire for her to stay home and help run the family business as jewelers for the King, Iona Stonefinder yearns for the adventurous and sometimes dangerous life as a Protector of Klairn. Against their wishes, she competes and makes the finals in the Olympic-like Protector Trials, a near-impossible feat. Will this nature-girl win a place in the rankings as one of the chosen few to help save her world, Klairn? Or will the handsome Lexti Anders, another contestant, distract her as she steals her heart?
Welcome to the old, old world of Klairn, whose war-torn and industrial past made it necessary to create a team of top-notch Protectors, who seek to maintain the well-being of their beloved planet through difficult physical feats and even all out espionage. After the grueling trials, only one person from each of the twelve Provinces of Klairn will be chosen.
The first book of the Klairn series, Protectors of Klairn is a rich tale ranging form the light-hearted antics of the animals of Klairn to the camaraderie and growing friendship of the contestants, all vying for their place in the finals. Experience the culture and beauty of this world as you travel through its forests, canyons, oceans, and meadows. First, however, the trials await. There is a seat in the stands at this live event for you. The first book in this remarkable series is your ticket...
Erin Elder was born in New Orleans, the youngest of four. She has written for numerous newspapers, newsletters, and technical projects; most of them too boring to describe. It did, however, provide her with the discipline to finish this book, the upcoming sequels in this series and two plays that were produced in California, Automation, and Sober Christmas.
She currently lives in Charlotte, NC with her husband, two stray cats that never left, and a very large, gentile rottweiller.
