Item Description
Bob Dylan 16" x 22" (including white border) color lithograph. Nashville Skyline album cover shot.
Printed and signed by the photographer, Elliott Landy.
About the photograph:
This photograph was taken in 1968 outside Bob Dylan's home at Byrdcliffe in the town of Woodstock. It was used as the album cover for Dylan's Nashville Skyline album and endures as one of the defining images of this legend.
Elliott Landy was there: he was the official photographer at the Woodstock Festival in 1969, and he shot many legendary photographs of icons like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin The Band, The Doors, Van Morrison and so many other musical heroes of the 1960s and 70s.
And of course, Bob Dylan.
What made Landy's photographs of Dylan so unique and special was his access. Landy lived in Woodstock and was invited to Dylan's home to photograph Bob as he was rarely seen, with family and friends in private settings.
