Item Description

11 3/4" X 8 3/4" X 1 1/4" Oil on canvas

Salmon Sky is a classic oil painting created in the style reminiscent of the late 1800s Tonalism movement.  As typical of Beecher work, the trees are established in the underpainting with glazed colors atop.  THis scene invites the viewer in by means of a dirt pathway flanked by green.  Brighter colors skirt the distant groves, establishing depth and reinforcing the focal point at the horizon line.

Christina Beecher received her BFA form the Cleveland Institute of Art.  Credits include Christina Beecher, a Retrospective, Wheaton College and AAM 2007 * Visions exhibit.  Exhibitions include the Duxbury Art Association, the Next Door Gallery, Morini Gallery, Hunakai School and the Attleboro Arts Museum.  Awards include a juror’s choice, first place and merit awards. She has done many commissions and is in collections around the country.
