Item Description
24" X 28" Acrylic on jute panel
Not far from my house is a small woodland pond that remains for the most part shaded all day. It seemed like a good subject for the painting. I wanted the surface of the water to appear as though one could see into it, but at the same time define it. The lily pads drawn in perspective accomplished this for me.
Barry T. Close is a landscape painter for the most part. Occasionally he does portraits and other works which include figures. He works in acrylics, watercolor and pen and ink. Barry is a graduate of the Art Institute of Boston, but has worked mostly outside the art world. He paints from time to time as the spirit moves him. His goal is to create artwork that is done well enough to be around long after he is gone.
