Item Description

12" X 18" Monotype Etching

The concept of this etching done in college, springs from memories of childhood dreams of living in the theater district of New York City.  A close friend of mine and I envisioned the wonder of the grand old theaters, costumes, music and make-up in such a romantic and classical way.  Since visiting Broadway, I've created a series of monotypes that portrayed my love of theater and my friend and I.  It's make-believe musical, "Celestial".

Robin Galligan has a BA in Sculpture/3D Studies from UMASS, Dartmouth.  Robin was a recipient of the Mary Louise Walsh Scholarship for International Studies from UMD which allowed her to study painting and art history in Sicily during the summer of 2006.  Robin currently works as a cake designer at Montilio’s Bakery in Brockton.
