Item Description

A selection of cheeses from Goat Lady Dairy in Climax, NC, outside of Greensboro.

For 14 years the Goat Lady Dairy family has produced national award winning handmade cheese on their farm in Randolph County.  In partnership with Wilderness Trail Dairy and Lindale Organic Dairy they make several styles of cheese including fresh spreadable Chevre (goat cheese) in nine flavors, hand-molded logs, Farmers Cheese, Smokey Mountain Round, and Marinated Chevre plus soft ripened cheeses Crottin, Sandy Creek and Julian and raw organic cow milk aged cheeses Old Liberty and Randolph.  They also make goat milk Yoghurt and Chocolate Goat Cheese Truffles.

Goat cheese can be used like any other cheese. It is delicious just as a slicing cheese to enjoy with fruit and wine or as a popular ingredient in many delicious recipes. You can spread it on crackers or bread, use it in salads, soups, pizzas or pasta or as a topping for fresh vegetables or baked potatoes. Goat cheese is a healthy alternative to many other cheeses because it is easier to digest and lower in fat and cholesterol.
