Vitality Works uses only a select group of herbal wild harvesters whose concerns for the environment meet our high ethical standards and uncompromising quality control.

The energy behind Vitality Works, Inc. comes from the dedication of Mitch Coven, Founder of the clinic and herb lab. Personally involved in the clinical work as well as the manufacturing facility, Mitch is a trained medical herbalist, in clinical practice. Educated at the Southwest School of Botanical Medicine, he also us an Instructor of Herbal Pharmacy at mitch.jpg (6818 bytes) the National College of Phytotherapy as well as Instructor of Herbal Medicine at the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics. Mitch is known for the educational intensives and classes he has taught to health professionals, herbal medicine students and the public across the country. True to his traditional herbal background, Mitch focuses on developing Vitality Works products based upon the successful real-life experiences of the many patients who seek help at the Clinic.

Vitality Works, Inc. is an Albuquerque, New Mexico based liquid herbal extract company owned and operated by Mitch Coven, a practicing clinical herbalist. He lectures widely on herbal therapeutics and oversees quality control and product development. Mitch teaches herbal pharmacy at the National College of Phytotherapy. Founded in 1982, Vitality Works started as a holistic health clinic focusing on alternative therapies. All of Vitality Works’ formulas have been developed through clinical practice and extensive experience.

To ensure the high quality of our extracts, our herbal preparations are produced locally in our own manufacturing facility, an F.DA. Registered and approved homeopathic drug manufacturing site.

All Vitality Works’ herbs are ethically and ecologically wildharvested, organically grown by independent farmers with whom we contract, or selectively imported under strict standards. They are custom picked at the peak of their season by skilled botanists and herbalists to assure premium quality. Much time and expense goes into sourcing and purchasing only the freshest and most vital raw materials. Our herbs are never fumigated or irradiated.

The fresh plant extracts are macerated within 12 to 48 hours from harvest while the dry plant extracts are ground minutes before extraction and are cold drip percolated, all to exacting standards to maximize potency. Alcohol and water are used to extract the most difficult to digest biochemical compounds. Ratios of herb to menstrum are calculated by the potency of the herb. Extractions are approved by the A.T.F. and use U.S.P. grade grain alcohol and deionized kinetically stored water. We use pharmaceutical grade (U.S.P.) grain alcohol, not industrial alcohol or hexane.

Our glycerites (alcohol free) are first extracted in alcohol, then the alcohol is carefully removed in a manner that will not damage heat sensitive polysaccharides, then replaced with vegetable glycerine and raw New Mexico honey. All F.D.A. Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.s) are followed in a microbiologically clean environment. Tests show our glycerites to be 99.998% alcohol free.
