Molly Wakeman is an Artist and Designer living in Albuquerque New Mexico. She teaches Graphic Design at University of New Mexico and is a Freelance Graphic Designer and Design Consultant.
Molly received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Alfred University. Trained by distinguished Swiss-American Designer, Fred Troller, she was influenced by the Bauhaus style and Classic Swiss New Typography. Awarded a summer internship with international renowned design studio Vignelli Associates in New York City, she studied with Massimo and Lella Vignelli learning the beauty and simplicity of the modernist tradition. Following school she was hired as a Junior Designer at Vignelli Associates.
Over the last ten years Molly has worked with a number of award winning Design Studios; Arnold Saks Associates, DeSantis Breindel, Graham Hanson Design, Harp and Company and Spagnola & Associates.
Main clientele includes: BMW, Boston Latin School Association, Cayuga Medical Center at Ithaca, Cohen & Steers, Cummins Inc., Guggenheim Museum, Hospital for Special Surgery, Hovnanian Enterprises, Inc., Interactive Data Corporation, Knights of Columbus, Macklowe Properties, McKinsey & Company, Morgan Stanley Real Estate, NewYork Presbyterian Hospital, New York Public Library, North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Spence School, Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, World Kitchen formerly Corning Consumer Products Company, Wyeth and University of New Mexico.
In 2007 Molly moved to New Mexico to pursue a Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) at the University of New Mexico. Accomplishing her MFA degree in 2010, she focused on large-scale modular aluminum sculpture. To view this work please visit: www.mollywakeman.com
