Item Description
A southwestern blue toned piece of pottery art with a whimsical horse figure atop the lid. This hand thrown vessel was fired in an outdoor kiln to 2000 degrees. Molten hot, it is placed in a pit with dried brush and mesquite shavings that burst into flame. The varying conditions such as ambient temperature, wind, and the unique way flames lick a piece each time, assure that your raku vessel is one of a kind.
Once horses and bison roamed the high desert, wild and free. Pueblo people lived between Mother Earth and Father Sky, looking to their animal brothers for wisdom. Navajo vision seekers sought the power of mountain lion and bear, coyote and eagle. Look to the sun above, feel the earth below.
Animal symbol meanings: Horse - access to healing powers.
