Item Description

Bid on this vibrant original piece by Richmond artist Mehmet Sahin Altug. The painting — acrylic on wood panel — is 11" x 16"
and sides are painted, so a frame isn't necessary.

View this painting in person at Taza Coffee n' Creme at 5047 Forest Hill Avenue (behind the antique shop).

Also known for his one-of-a-kind whimsical, handcrafted furniture, Sahin has transferred his use of rich color and symbolic imagery into two-dimensional work, now the primary focus of his artistic pursuits. He blends color and uses assorted tools to create many-layered, multi-hued pieces. Sahin pulls content from nature and his Mediterranean heritage and brings them together in unexpected combinations.

The Turkish artist works out of his studio at Bainbridge Art Center, a facility for artists and creative professionals that he owns in Manchester. Sahin has been featured in the Richmond Times-Dispatch, Richmond magazine and Style Weekly and has gallery representation in multiple U.S. cities. His work can be seen locally at Ellwood Thompson's, A Movable Feast, Tinkers and Crossroads Art Center.
