Size:  10in x 10in

 

Media:  Carrara marble, stained glass, glitter tiles, crystal tiles, natural seashells and coral, glass gems, millefiori, and seed beads with an upcycled metal candleholder as a substrate

 

Artist Statement:

Karen DeGroff divides her time between Scottsdale, Arizona and Arenas Valley, New Mexico.  Karen has been creating mosaics since 2004.  Her work has been exhibited at Ciel Gallery in Charlotte, North Carolina, and is in private collections around the country.  “White Night” reflects her love of nature, and particularly the sea.  The shells and corals are treasures found while scuba diving and beachcombing in the Marshall Islands.

This mosaic was made especially for Doctors Without Borders/ Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)
