Item Description

A Window to the Ocean World!

You are bidding on a one of a kind stained glass window, featuring two angelfish.  This piece of original artwork was created by two SCUBA divers and Ocean Futures Society members who also own and operate a full service glass studio in Illinios.  They work in the Tiffany copper foil type of construction, as they feel it offers more flexibility in control and design. This window started with 2 paper copies of a drawing. One copy is cut apart with special scissors and then glued onto the glass. The second paper copy is used as a “roadmap” to build the project. Each piece of glass is hand cut and ground to fit onto the “roadmap.” After the pieces are fitted together, each one has it edges wrapped with a copper foil tape. The tape is then soldered from one piece to the next piece.

Created with patience, inspiration and a love for marine life, this window was inspired by a SCUBA diving trip to Big Pine Key, Florida.  This piece has sentimental value to the artists and Ocean Futures Society feels lucky to be able to offer this window to bidders.

Item Special Note

The window measures 20.5" wide by 14.5" high.
