Item Description
$100 gift certificate to El Quijote.
Nestled in the Chelsea Hotel and serving since 1930, El Quijote appears untouched by time. While seafood remains the most popular choice on the massive menu, they know their steak here, too. Try the tapa of filet mignon tips, sizzling in a frying pan, or the special appetizer combo for two. Lobster in green sauce, like everything else, is gigante. (Be sure to spoon the extra-garlicky salsa over everything in sight.) Paella, available four different ways, is also a good choice for the table. If, by some miracle, you’re able to squeeze anything else into your stomach at meal’s end, the flan is fantástico. - Time Out NY
Dining at El Quijote is like taking a vacation--one where you've wandered into an utter tourist trap. Kitschy décor makes the place feel decidedly non-Manhattan; but unlike in other Disney-style destinations, a dollar here goes a fairly long way. Huge portions make it easy to get stuffed on paella and sangria--that is, if you can make your way through the packed front bar area to the even more packed dining room. Situated near other entertainments like Hunkmania, El Quijote makes for a perfect (and perfectly cheesy) bachelor/bachelorette/birthday plan. -- Christina Nunez, NY Magazine
