Item Special Note
This painting was inspired by a nineteenth century photograph of the May Day (first of May) celebration. It was originally part of the artist's "Prospect Park: An Album of Memories," a 7X3 foot installation of a walk-in "photo album" exhibited in Brooklyn's Grand Army Plaza Arch in October 1998 (as mentioned in the New York Times).
