Item Description
This printed tote is inspired by the Mud Cloth Prints from Mali, Africa. PHSSA's third grade is studying goods and services around the world (specifically Mali). Third grade social studies in coordination with the Art Room have explored the handmade printed fabric of the Mali Villagers.
The original Mali Mud Cloths were made from homemade and dyed cotton. The paint was made from mud and minerals from the earth. The colored mud was then applied with a brush over stencils. Some cloths were actually printed on!! Woo-Hoo.
These cloths are full of meaningful symbols, patterns, symmetry, and they tell a story. These totes are 100 % cotton with the same image in a different color- on the front and back!!! Support your local villagers of Patrick Henry and buy one today!!!
The one featured here was designed and printd by 3rd Grader Damian.
