ACTUAL SIZE 36 ½” X 48 ¾”. Custom frame.
MARALYN WILSON works primarily inencaustic, a wax base painting medium. Encaustic is an ancient technique first used by the Phoenicians to preserve and seal the wood of their ships. In my paintings, this process involves painting with hot wax and fusing layers of wax with a heat gun. The layering effect is further enhanced using color pigment, golf leaf, and rice paper.
