Item Description
Giclée reproduction of a watercolor by the donor artist, Nancy McAleer. The piece is 16" x 20" with 1 1/2" border and is art museum quality on watercolor paper with archival inks.
Giclée (pronounced “zhee-clay") is derived from a French word "le gicleur", meaning "nozzle", or to be more exact ,"to squirt, spurt, or spray”. It is a new process using advanced technology, specifically for the process of making fine art reproductions from a digital source. Artwork is scanned directly from the artist's original painting and is then processed through a computer and printed on archival paper, to very closely resemble the original. This ink jet technology produces over four million droplets of ink each second, and can combine to form more than two thousand shades of color. It is the highest quality of reproduction available and is widely displayed in fine art galleries around the world.
