Item Description
Poster reproduction of a 1987 painting, "El Tope en Dolores" (The Meeting in Dolores) by Edmundo Alburola of Nicaragua. The picture represents a unique cultural pageant, involving three small towns and the statues of their patron saints, that unfolds each January in the Nicaraguan town of Dolores. The saints are invited to go in a two-mile procession to Diriamba, where they remain until January 31 when they all return to their respective towns. People who have received favors from these saints in response to their prayers dress in typical costumes and take part in traditional dances, keeping alive the oldest theater piece in Central America. The poster is 24-1/4" wide and 23-1/4" high.
Item Special Note
The high bidder can pay the bid amount for each of two posters, if desired.
