Item Description
This beautiful pottery from San Juan de Oriente, Nicaragua, was hand-thrown, etched, colored with mineral oxides, and fired in a brick kiln at a low temperature. The vase stands about 10" high, with a 1-1/4" diameter at its mouth and a 6" diameter at its largest point. Four frogs are etched in relief, in alternating colors of red-brown and blue-gray, to encircle the vase over a background of etched leaves. The vase is ideal for dried flower arrangements or as a stand-along piece of art, but is not suitable for holding water or food.
