Artist Statement:
“Healianthus” came to represent several concepts. On our walks on our farm, several different varieties of sunflower were blooming. Their intricate bronze, gold and yellow faces followed the sun, rather like the medical personnel who travel to bring hope and healing to people across the world. sunflower has many meanings, light and happiness, among them. They nurture animals and people. Some cultures revere them and believe that they have healing properties.
