Item Description

Size: 8.5in x 8.5in framed

Media: stained glass, wire

Artist Statement:

This insect begins its life as a caterpillar and then spins its cocoon. It’s during this time the caterpillar lies dormant sequestered away from the rest of the world, that there is a period of great transition and change. Finally, the caterpillar awakens and emerges, transformed, forever changed into a beautiful butterfly.

Susan Walden began as a self-taught copperfoil stained glass artist almost twenty years ago.  Not willing to let any scrap glass go to waste, she began making mosaics.

Being able to recycle scraps into beautiful works of art is a passion of hers.
