A Day of Ice Climbing in the Mountains of Western Maine
with Bob Baribeau and Landon Fake
What an opportunity!! You won't want to miss spending a day with these two pros! Already done a lot of ice climbing in your days? Great! They can lead you on a very challenging climb. Beginner? That's fine, too! They'll accommodate you regardless of your skill level.
Bob and Landon have been mountaineering for more than 30 years and have climbed together for 20 years.
Bob (Elizabeth ’01; Yves ’04; Hilary ’06; Scott ’09) has made several ascents in the American and Canadian Rockies, Alaska and the Peruvian Andes. He is currently the director of Mahoosuc Mountain Rescue and a part-time alpine guide.
Landon (Anna ’11; Cathryn ’14) has climbed extensively in the American West and the European Alps. He is the former regional director of Outward Bound Wilderness and is also a long-time member of the Mahoosuc Mountain Rescue Team.
Item Special Note
This item is for up to four people on a mutually agreed upon day, February 5, 2011- April 1, 2011.
- Minimum age: 14
- Traditional Alpine lunch included
- We will provide technical equipment. You will need sturdy outdoor winter clothing and to rent climbing boots and crampons in North Conway, NH
- No experience is necessary but you must be in good health and reasonably fit
- Climbing venue will be in the Mahoosuc or White Mountains in Western Maine/ Eastern New Hampshire and will be selected based on ice and weather conditions and makeup of group
